Goals and Objectives

The goals and objectives of the Whatcom County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are as follows:

  • To serve as an EMS advisory board to the community, the North Region EMS and Trauma Care Council (NREMSTCC) and the Department of Health, Office of EMS and Trauma Care Systems (DOH)

  • To coordinate emergency medical training, including, but not limited to, C.P.R., and basic advanced life support education

  • To promote public awareness of EMS through education and prevention programs

  • To improve communication and coordination between providers of emergency medical care and related agencies through regularly scheduled meetings, for the benefit of these agencies and ultimately the public they serve

  • To develop funding for emergency medical services through both public and private resources, and to control the disbursement of these funds as consistent with the Council's goals

  • To anticipate community needs in the area of emergency medical services, and to work to address those needs

  • To otherwise do and perform all acts consistent with the mission of the Council, and not inconsistent with the bylaws

  • To meet any and all applicable RCWs and WACs
